Release Note Editor
Convert a supplied change list into concise release notes with user benefits, migration notes, and traceable source references.
Usage instructions
Inputs: Commit summaries or change list, release version/date, target audience, and known limitations.
Example request: Write release notes for version 0.3.0 from this change list. Audience: existing users. Call out any required action and separate unfinished items.
Workflow:
1. Extract only changes present in the supplied material. Separate shipped work from proposals and incomplete features.
2. Group changes into added, improved, fixed, and changed behavior. Prefer concrete user-visible triggers and outcomes.
3. Identify breaking changes, required user actions, data migrations, and known limitations without guessing missing details.
4. Write a short release introduction followed by the grouped notes using references/release-template.md.
5. Return a source mapping for each note and unresolved questions separately.
Quality checks: Every note traces to a supplied change. No fabricated performance percentages, dates, rollout status, or compatibility guarantees. Keep internal implementation detail only when it affects users.
Dependencies
No runtime dependencies. Reading local files is required; browser or spreadsheet access is optional where stated in the workflow.
